OK, I understand.  Initially, I thought the light band would add depth to the picture.  However, I might not need this.  Here it is again:

I prefer without the light ... I do really like this image !

This is much better in my eyes. Would I be accurate in saying that for something to add depth to an image it would have to be at least partly recognisable as something in or leading to the backround or foreground?
