I was just wondering if anyone has any information or knows about any free online photography courses i could use to learn and improve my photography

Yeah there is nothing out there that is worth the time and effort, looks like I'll have to learn the hard way, but I guess that's what's its all about

Torquay collage run some very good courses on digital photography from beginners to advanced and they are not all that expensive,otherwise it's just practice and more practice

Do some searches on youtube, also there are some decent tutorials which are set up as podcasts.
Otherwise get out there and just play around with it all !

As you are in the UK... There is a photography Magazine called "Practical Photography" which I am a subcriber off.

They have a Boot Camp Course running.  Each the email you videos and you get a booklet each month with tuturials and assignments in a whole range of basic photograpgy skills i.e. exposure, composition etc

This may of use to you as it is abou £4 a month for the magazine which, in itself, is a great help and a great read!!
