2011 Challenges B&W - Stormy weather

http://www.lightartforum.com/index.php?action=gallery;sa=view;id=4487

An attempt at a B&W for the first of our 2011 challenges, a conversion of one of my storm shots (from last January, coincidentally).

That is a cracker of a shot and storm, I bet the colour version is very intimidating as well. Good conversion.

I have had a look the the challenge section but could not make head nor tails of it. It seemed a bit all ofer the place so I gave up.
This might put me be back on track maybe.

Once again that is a great storm shot, had been hoping for some afternoon storms here as it has been and will be nudging 40 all week, was 45 here on Australia day but no storms, just hot. I will try once again to look at the challenge section.

Pete...

Pete, because our admin is a very busy person Bob suggested we do each month in turn for 2011 going by the subjects in the 'Discussion by Gallery Genre".  The first one there is B7W.

So it will come out as
January - B&W
February - People
March - Places
April - Big Skies
May - Macro
June - Documentary/photojournalism
July - Glamour/fashion (I've skipped Stock photography - not really a very active topic here)
August - Nature
September - Architecture/buildings
October - Sport
November - Still Life
December - Transport

This left Pets and other animals over so I suggest combining Still Life with macro - what do others think?

And I see you have not yet added anything by gallery, Pete.  To do it you go to the Gallery link (at the top), add your photo (s) and the gallery automatically starts a thread in the relevant group referred to above.  NOTE the galleries are NOT int he same order as the Discussion section.

Yeah this is definately a forboding sky!!

I think your idea of combining macro/still life is a good idea.. Not everyone has a true macro lense so we can get "close" with still life too if we wanted  Smiley

Time is like a freeway of infinite lanes, all leading from the past to the future. A driver in lane A may crash, while a driver in lane B survives, it follows that by changing lanes one may be able to predict the future.

And that is the one we got no rain at all from - and I took that from just across the road and about 400m up the street.  It was very impressive.
