My Boss doesn't have much time for F stops and  Focus! So with a point and shoot I can sneak out a few.   Wink

Time is like a freeway of infinite lanes, all leading from the past to the future. A driver in lane A may crash, while a driver in lane B survives, it follows that by changing lanes one may be able to predict the future.

I'd love to post pics of my work Pete, as so often I am inspired by those who are afflicted by profound disabilities. Legally I am unable to do so, morally I would never. However every glance, every grimace of pain, every wonderful moment of sharing time with our service users, is a treasured cerebral snapshot for me. We do take photographs to capture accomplishments of the year for each person, and these are given to carers and families to share, giving pictorial memories for all.

I am impressed by the sheer magnitude of engineering, your work entails. Nice pics and I look forward to other's entries in what should be a fascinating thread.

You know Jenn my work is a means to an end, a way to pay bills, and live comfortably, The rewards I get from the finished product is personal only. The mine doesn't care how well the job is done or how much effort goes into it, they only see time vs Profit and Loss.

Now what you do has a profond effect on those around you, the dedication and care of other Human beings is a very noble pursuit. Iam sure that the rewards far exceed the trials.

All the best
Pete...

Another of My little hole in the ground.

This is what is refered to as Highwall Mining.
The blast crews and draglines make a giant trench, then portals are built along the trench, (the square concrete blokes that enter the wall) and then men and machines burrow into the wall for a few kms following the coal seem.

Sounds like fun don't it, I work above ground and thats just fine with me. Grin the wall hight is roughly 70mtrs from memory.
