You have used a very shallow DoF.  To me the petals are in focus however the main part (?) of the flower is rather fuzzy.  Are you using flash?  Must be tricky to get the focus right.

Yes Christoph, I did use a flash with this image and agree with you about the DoF. However I was under difficult lighting conditions deep in a rain drenched forest at the time and as this is quite a crop, due to the size of the plant, I think the compression has taken away some of the clarity. I thank you for pointing this out though and will look at the others in this series to see if there's a better vantage point/ focus on the calli
