I wasn't sure about this one going in this month's challenge afterall it's just a large hole in the ground BUT a very important one, as it's part of the Exeter flood relief channel it runs all the way through the city and out to sea at Topsham. It was built in the 1960's and improvement work is still on going to the tune of £200 million over the next 10 years. Well i did promise some of the more unusual things that would normally be overlooked. the postcode is about 200yds out as i had to get it to the nearest building

It's a lovely shot, Bob, nice composition, lighting and colour and I love the sheep looking at you.  Good clouds too.  And you can see a church tower in the background that shows how close to the city it is.

Lovely scenic rendition of a rural landscape. I too have enjoyed the colours and composition. Thank you Bob Smiley

I like the way the 'hole in the ground' leads my eye up through the image

Thank's all for your kind comments, Odille the church is Alphington church and roughly speaking once you pass it you are out of Exeter and Jenn this was taken in the middle of the largest industrial estate in England it's called Marsh barton, if you go onto google earth you can use the postcode to find it. Every car & truck manufacture has an outlet here you can walk out here and drive home in anything from a mini to a Rolls Royce or an escort van to a 32ton scania
