I have been trying to find somewhere online to TRY and sell my photography (times are hard), is anyone doing the same or does anyone know of any websites that are worth the effort?

I have heard about photostocks? can anyone inform me with what these are like?

P.S. The website has to be free to join and use!

Have you looked at http://www.redbubble.com/ yet?   Not that I have sold any.  Odille sold a calendar recently: http://www.lightartforum.com/index.php/topic,5438.0.html

I think redbubble is a bit like Amway - you need lots of family and friends to buy the stuff so you make a buck or two (and they make lots on the way through). That said, if you don't display you sure as ...aren't going to sell it! Grin

I have thought about doing this before too but from my experience, the internet is flooded with photography sites that can offer superior shots & prints than I can acheive.

I think the best way to get sales is to stay local, obv have a site to enable people to view your work but try to get shots into local newspapers, local websites, approach local businesses or local people, especially if your work has a lot of local/regional photographs that may appeal to people.

Facebook or other such sites are goos way to get the word out about your work.  Also gumtree.  All free!!

I used these methods to get work and it got me a Freelance job with my local newspaper and various portrait jobs..

Hope this is useful!
