Now you wouldn't want to get scratched by too many of these.In days gone by the so called upper classes would plant these all around their property to stop the local rif-raf from getting in.I did take your advice Tim and used my 60mm macro lens and a trypod

Great details Bob, you can see all the little hairs on the branch as well.  I love hawthorns, they were used a lot for hedges whn I lived near Canberra - good for keeping the sheep where you want them (and I mean 4 legged sheep!).
