I am using the D90 and am very happy.  Don't know anything about the D300.

Have you seen this site: http://www.dpreview.com/?  I find the reviews quite useful.

When we want to invest we'll definitely ask for a second opinion and that's exactly wants happening in the forum! It's a toss between a D90 or a D300 and there is confusion on that!! Not many people there to say much but since he is using the D90 the only comment is on that but there is a link where she can go and do some research and decide what she really want to buy!!
