New Job

Well after a couple of months of searching I have landed myself a new job. Did an all day "assessment centre" on Friday last week which was 7 hours long and consisted of Psychometric testing (personality and intelligence), a role play, a team problem solving task, and a formal interview ! A full on day.
Today the recruiter who organised the day called and said the company would like to offer me the position which was great. Then they called back at 5.20pm today and said can you start on Friday !! So it looks like I am going to be starting my new career on Friday, with a trip to Sydney on either Sunday night or Monday morning to begin training for a couple of weeks !!!

One of my friends who recently moved to Sydney has just bought himself a 50D + 70-200mm lens so we are going to get out and about when I go down with another friend we have down there who has been a Nikon man for a very long time. So the 3of us will spend a bit of time on the weekend (if I get to stay down for the weekend) doing some photography !

Waiting on my call from the area manager. I had a call earlier from one of my references saying they had called to talk to him so all good there ... ... ... now its just the waiting game to see what they offer.

A colleague of mine just started in the same role in Sydney for Mercks (as a pharma rep) he finds it challenging and interesting mixing it with medicos and the required product knowledge. Good luck with it !

Yea .. MSD (Merck Sharp + Dohme) is another company I was interested in but they didnt act quickly enough !
I am just back from a week in Sydney training but I am back to Sydney on Sunday night ! Busy Busy ... the training was pretty hard but I managed to survive !

My Dad also worked at MSD from the mid 60's where he started as fitter and turner machinist then an instrument fitter, and finally in the late 70's he morphed into the resident safety and security expert...Until in the ealry 80's he was lured away by the offer of a national role in the same gig for Thooeys and later Lion Nathan brewing, yep the offer of cheap beer was more than any man could bear!
