Well those of you that follow the news will know that we Brits and most of Europe are "house bound" at the moment we are told that it could last for a few months before the cloud of volcanic ash disperses but that can't happen until it stops erupting it may be a thousend miles away but you can't beet nature, i just hope no one gets hurt because of it.
Sitting here looking at the sunshine i find it hard to believe that all that ash is only seven miles above us

It is certainly causing ructions in world air traffic, with all flights from Australia to UK and Germany currently suspended, and to some other locations as well.  I always shake my haed and chuckle at the people complaining about glitches in their air travel due to mechanical problems, I'd far rather be safe on the ground than in a jet (in this case) whose air intakes suddenly get clogged by volcanic ash in flight and stop.

A bit off to the side, as it were, are you getting good sunsets?

I read (in the article link below) that ash in the atmosphere from the eruption of Tambora in 1815 (a one-in-1000-year event), on the island of Sumbawa, Indonesia, was responsible for some of the spectacular sunsets painted by Turner.

Tambora was the most deadly eruption in recorded history, killing more than 70,000 people.

The link has a film and slide show too.

Well Odille i haven't yet seen any evidence of a specular sunset what we are getting is very hazy and mostly cloudless grey Sky's and sunsets that look like they are through fog. I have posted one in this months competition I'm hoping it may get a sympathy vote because of the circumstances under which it was taken!!!!!
