I got a little busy with some stuff. If you to http://athens.usembassy.gov you'll see some work that I'm getting paid to do (I can't believe I'm working for The Government - at least it's not a speaking role, because I'd either have to say some stuff that I don't believe or I'd get fired for saying stuff that I do believe). Press photography ain't easy, it turns out - sorta like wedding photography for people who think they're really, really important. And my gear isn't quite up to it. I need to get an external power pack for my flash, and pro-quality lenses for the D200. The kit lens doesn't focus fast enough, or consistently accurately enough, to be of serious use. It gets me through, but there have been a couple challenging moments.

I've also opened a cafepress shop at http://www.cafepress.com/bhneelyphoto to sell some of my pretty pictures. Their system is really awkward, but it's a nice way to sell cards and such (I refuse to sell t-shirts, baseballs, coffee mugs...I have principles, man).

And what, exactly is wrong with mugs?
Do you like, have to kill us if we look at work you did for the US government, or just buy a mug... I mean print.
Good to see you back!

Yes, I wondered where you had been.  Be thankful you are not at the Embassy in Zimbabwe!

Oh, there are many embassies I'm thankful I'm not at. The bulk of them all over Africa (though there are a couple places I wouldn't mind going - except that once you've served in Africa, that bureau holds onto you), with the others being a bit more to the north and east, or just to the east.

Do you sell any stuff there?  I've signed up for one and will upload some images at the weekend.  I used you as ny referrer so I hope you get some benefit from that!

So far I've sold to my mom and one friend, but those two purchases paid for 4 months of "rent." I figure it'll take a while to get sufficient traffic and business, so I'm not too worried about that. I just keep adding pictures and make sure to mention it whenever possible. http://www.cafepress.com/bhneelyphoto Like that.
