I was driving my 14 year old daughter to work at the salt mines this morning (kidding, she has just landed her first paid part-time employment at a local  Cold Rock ice cream parlour), when, as we rounded a bend on our somewhat rural road, I spied a glimpse of what looked to be a small bag of some kind. I did a "Uey" as we say and went back to find a small camera bag on the verge containing a Canon 400D and a 15-55 zoom. It must have fallen from a motorbike or cyclist bag, I guess.
Other than the lens rim losing about 2cm (1") where the cap clips on from the impact, it is in very good order.
There was no ID, other than the series of images in the flash card. We will report to the Police and see if we can get the local radio stations to mention during drive time on Monday morning..and maybe even run an ad in the local paper, but short of that my daughters may have a acquired a new bit of kit which will get them going.

You could stick a few shots on AP.  OK if I put a notice up there?

Sure Odille, a good idea. Best to keep a basic description or I'll have lots of claimants
Canon DSLR in a camera bag, location was southbound on Wattle Tree Rd Holgate - Central Coast NSW near the Bamboo Buddhah Cafe, found at around 9:40AM morning Saturday 3rd April. There is a series of distinctive images on the flash card that will enable me to verify ownership.

There is apparently a blogspot site but you have to post 4 pics from the camera.

And Canon records lost/found camera serial numbers to match people up
