Stormy Pelicans - Tuggerah Lakes

http://www.lightartforum.com/index.php?action=gallery;sa=view;id=3906

By way of testing this month's theme gallery, to be sure that all is in place, here is a Landscape of sorts from a series taken several months ago at the Tuggerah Lakes, about 20 minute from where we live. I did post a couple of images at the time, but I have quite a few that I like because of the light and clouds on that afternoon.
This group of Pelicans were fishing as a group, making their way across the still foreshore, while clouds gathered overhead.
I used three layered copies of this image, multiplying the contrast, then burning in some of the lighter detail.

Avast there you scurvy dog, there'll be no piracy on my watch!!!!

Loosely translated - point of order AD, according to our good friends at Wiki - "Landscape comprises the visible features of an area of land" - rather than visible features of water.....!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Grin Grin

Toss in a holy handgrenade and let the debate begin!!!

Great shot as well Mark!!!!!!!!!

To Ross: Put your specs on brother, there be land ahoy! Aarrrgh.
The water is simply framing the land in the hinter regions of the image.
The pelicans, provide foreground interest. So there!

Hmmm - the beancounter in me is sure that there should be a fixed percentage rule that could be applied, but I guess we could hang around and see if the water drains to the left and reveals the land underneath?Huh? Grin Grin

I think it is more of a dip in the middle. Really needed the horizon right on centre with the wider angle lens
