My name is Lynda. I live in a rural district near Windsor, NSW, Australia. I have two grown up sons, one grand daughter, several cats, 3 dogs, horses, geese, chickens etc. Analog6 should know me from another forum. If you see this Odille, I wonder if you will be able to figure out who I am? A hint....your cat Tinkerbelle's name sounds a bit like my other username and she looks a lot like one of my cats. lol I have always loved taking photographs. I was never interested though in how a camera worked or what all the numbers and buttons etc were for, until I bought my first DSLR, a Nikon D90, just a couple of months ago. Now Im itching to learn all I can! Ive seen some absolutely amazing photographs here and read several posts. Everyone seems so friendly and helpful, and patient with us newbies. Will post some photos soon. Cheers for now Lynda

Hello and welcome to the forum here, Lynda. Look forward to seeing some photos, you are in a good area for it. And some of your cats too, of course!
Everyone, Lynda has MORE cats than I do!

Thank you all so much for the lovely welcome and Im so sorry for the late reply.
Can someone help me please?
Ive only ever been really active on one other forum and Im not used to this one yet. Im used to relying on getting email notifications to alert me to activity on threads Ive started or have posted in and havent been getting those here. Ive been so busy here reading and learning etc I had forgotten about my intro thread and hadnt noticed so many people had come along to say hi.
Is email notification available here? If so I just cant find it. Sorry to be a pain.

Hi Lynda, Welcome to LAF. I grew up not sooo far from there in Castle Hill, now residing near Terrigal on the NSW Central Coast. We hope you enjoy the company. Truckman's suggestion is correct. Top right for links to both new posts and replies to yours.

Thank you for the welcome Mark, and yes those links are just what I needed.
I lived at Castle Hill and Baulkham Hills before I moved to the Hawkesbury a bit over 20 years ago. My brother has a holiday home at Terrigal so I spend some time there too.
Oh yes, Im thoroughly enjoying the company here...such a lovely group of people, and Ive learnt soooo much already!!!
