I saw in the SMH today http://www.smh.com.au/environment/floods-engulf-northern-england-20091121-irsd.html that you have severe flooding in the Lake district up to Scotland.  A good photo slideshow there too.

Is everyone OK?  If so, what great photo opportunities - out you get!

Well, I have seen heavy rain before but never, ever so persitent, it just kept coming, and coming, there was no let up whatsoever for over 24 hours.

We were OK where we live, no flooding whatsoever, the river that is 200 metres from our front door coped very well, though I haven't seen it so high and fast as it was on Thursday evening.  There was localised flooding in our village and a few others nearby, but nothing too serious.

Cumbria however, which is about 80 miles South of us as the crow flies, got hit really hard.  The RAF rescued over 200 people and a policeman was killed. Sad  Google Cockermouth flooding to get an idea of the severity there.

When I first seen it on the news I was hoping that the LAF members over there were all ok, good to hear nobody got into any danger. It certainly looks like there's a pretty big mess over there.
