I did not see another post on the forum about this.  If there is one, the mods may want to remove this.

The Ricoh GXR

Of course, the biggest news about this new system from Ricoh is the interchangeable lens "modules" which have the sensors built in.  That opens up amazing possiblities, and not just for street shooters, but for all kinds of photographers.  Of course, the RED modular camera systems apply the same type of technology, but the that system is big and very, very expensive.

I have watched the past year, with keen interest, the latest small cameras being produced, hoping to latch on to one as an almost perfect street shooter- the Olympus EP series, the Lumix G1 and GF1, the Sigma DP cameras, the new Leica X1- but this new Ricoh system may just fit the bill.  Anyway, it is an exciting time we live in for new camera development.

very nice........ the next 2-3 years will see some radical changes in the equipment that we use to take photos. PMA should be good for some new releases in the new year, with Canon and Nikon just pushing each other to the limit as always. The overall winner will be the customer, who will have a lot more choice.

I have been looking for a new happy snap camera, but with PMA coming up I might just wait as there should be a lot more choices and improvements
