This is not a photo for C+C ... just a photo of something I have had for a long time and finally done something with.
It is an actual bid flag from Monte Carlo, when Australia won the Olympic games, my uncle was on the bid team and it was his flag.

At the time I was still swimming and had access to all the swimmers on the Sydney 2000 Olympic swimming team. SO ... obviously I had to go and get them all to sign it ... names such as Ian Thorpe, Grant Hackett, Susie Oniell, Petrea Thomas, Michael Klim, Chris Fydler, Matt Welsh, Liesel Jones, etc etc etc ... everyone except Kieran Perkins is on this flag !!!

You would have to think it might be worth some $$$ one day.

I probably should have taken it to the dry cleaners to have it pressed before framing ... but it actually looks like a real flag I guess ?? !!

The framer was going to put glass in it ... but the glass alone was 35kg !! So we went for perspex Smiley The frame itself is about 2m long and 1.5m high .. I am going to need a BIG BIG wall to hang this sucker Smiley

Time is like a freeway of infinite lanes, all leading from the past to the future. A driver in lane A may crash, while a driver in lane B survives, it follows that by changing lanes one may be able to predict the future.

I'd reckon it would be worth something now to an Olympic memorabilia collector.  You ought to get it valued.  A great keepsake as well, as Bob said.

It's ultimately not about money is it? It's memories and stories to tell and reminders of a time when honour and pride was more important than glory.

Exactly right ... it has nothing to do with how much its worth. It has to do with memories, I knew almost everyone on that flag personally since I didnt miss the team by much myself.

BUT ... in the end I should probably get it valued and insure it !
