I'm from the US, so you'll just have to get used to my funny spellings of words such as "color." And that when I talk about processing film, I hear "prahcess" as I type. I live in Athens, Greece right now so I don't have much in the way of compelling subjects to shoot.

After years of shooting a K1000 and a Hasselblad 501 and a Calumet Student 4x5, I bought a Nikon D200 about a year and a half ago. I love the convenience of the DSLR, but I find I prefer the sharpness of my Zeiss lenses and the magic of film development, so I'm working now at using the two different systems.

I'm also working at moving from being a devoted amateur to being a working artist. It's challenging. Not in the shooting, because that hasn't changed much, but in the business modeling and working out marketing plans and such.

Oh, and my name's Brian, and my url is http://blog.bpsphoto.com.

Hey Brian, I mean 'Brahn'  Wink
Thank you for joining in. Slowly but surely people are finding us - and a nice global mix too!
I took a peak at your blog. Some nice shots there. the "bottle brush" featured is native to where I come (Orrrrstraylia).

Don't be too hard on Athens. There is beauty to be found and you're hop and step away from rich history, gorgeous islands and some very interesting characters...Please post up some of your images and dive into the forums.

Knew I should have added an emoticon. Greece is a phenomenal place to shoot. I'm from Seattle, where ancient history includes the Denny Regrade, a massive project to tear apart a hill and fill in the harbor, in order to make a more usable lowland area in a space filled with hills. This happened waaaaaaaaayyyyyyyyy back in the late 19th C. More than 100 years ago! Now I live in a country where a similarly large project (okay, a much larger project) was executed at approximately the same time - the Corinth Canal. The thing is, the canal was first dreamed up by Pericles, 2600 years ago. The age of everything here, and the beauty of the light is amazing. Even at high noon, the shadows can be compelling.
