Well, we have a tie for the August theme challenge "The Global Recession"
Cher of 'Cher & Ross' with one of two identically named images ' Another one bites the dust' (BigBob provided the other)
and..
Camyllie with here aptly themed and 'posteris(s)ed' image 'Overdraft'...very literal. Well done guys, there were some great images in this challenge.
....and here are the winning images:

First: Camyllie, 'Overdraft':

and: Cher, 'Another one bites the dust':

<<ERASE..ERASE>>We have a tie! So to quickly get on with the September theme, I tossed a coin, and Camyllie gets to make the choice for September.
OK, so Camyllie, I'm on the hop, so email your choice to admin@.....<<ERASE..ERASE>>
Later...
I got it all wrong, it was Cher, not Ross (edited) and Camyllie then reminded me that We are out of kilter, and Derek is owed 'The Choice'...Which I believe is.....'Artistic Flair'

We need to catch up somehow on this selection thing. Two themes maybe.

Thank you everyone for your kind comments and if memory serves me correctly Mark, it's Derek's turn to pick September's theme.
Correct me if I am mistaken.
Some really interesting images this month < as always> and congratulations to everyone.

Well pickle me grandmother (NOTE TO OS Tragics - this line stolen from a classic Oz comedy), AD - as much as I would love to claim credit - Cher and Ross = Cher!!!!!!!!!  Congrats to both CHER and Carmyille on great shots!

Dare I?....and I think I do declare..a  catch up month to clear the confusion and get back to simplicity. What if we go out on a zany, crazy limb and have three, yes count them "3" theme challenges for the month of September.
1. Derek gets his "Artistic Flair" (speak now or forever hold your peace (not piece) Derek) Smiley
2. Carmyllie (Jenn) was whispering ideas of "From the ground up"....and
3. Cher - c'mon in and throw us a theme Cher ASAP via email to admin@ and a post here (maybe a colour or something simple, but your pick) and I'll get the galleries up in the morning.

...and that should stir up the nest nicely!
Then for October, we have a clear deck and be back to square one. How?... you say? by the highest vote of the combined themes and if necessary a wave of the admin wand.

Mark I am not that worried about having a choice for Sept challenge so how about we skip me and get back on track by doing what you wish with our worthy dual winners this month. I can only hope this doesn't confuse you even more, ha ha.

Hey Bob - don't tell AD lest we confuse him even more, but even if he accepted your offer, it was blown because he fast forwarded over my pick for winning the bowl of fruit challenge!!!!! At least this way the queue is cleared!!!   Grin Grin Cheesy Cheesy Wink

if the winner of a theme challenge picks the theme for next month... As there are 3 theme challenges this month, i presume there will be 3 winners. my question is, will there then be 3 challenges again next month??

Well confusion reigns.
Yes, I accept full blame, but the sun continues to rise in the east and I am reasonably certain that we will all get over it.
The selection for the follow up theme will be the highest scoring of the three themes. In the case where there is a draw, the image evoking the most comments will get the gong for next theme selection.

I'll do my best to ensure we stay on course from here on.
The outcome, is the generation of a little creativity and some very nice interperative images that otherwise might have never been conceived, so no real damage done.
