You could enter this image in every topic on the Forum Dale and I'd still smile! I truly like the ambience and sense of 'solitude' -- for all I know there could be a takeaway food chain store right behind where you stood to capture this. It matters not.

Such a walth of colour, shade and history enveloped into a glimpse which is shared across the miles. I daresay those men and women who toiled to erect such a structure, could never imagine that all those hundred years down the road, people like ourselves would be electronically sharing such pride in their heritage.

Bravo! It's a Brae Capture. ( as my mother's late aunt would say " I went to hae my likeness took" )

I'll have to ask my Wife for a translation. Cheesy

Thanks for the comments, really appreciated.  There is a small village opposite, which is very picturesque.  I'm still exploring the area, I spied a tiny harbour just behind the castle, about half a mile or so away from the castle, so that's got to be worth a visit next time I'm down that way.  Also, near Croy Shore, there is a spot on the road called The Electric Brae.  You can stop your car and it will appear to roll UPHILL  Shocked at that point.  It was thought to be some kind of electrical imbalance of the Earth/atmosphere but it's been scientifically researched recently and it's thought to be an optical illusion.

Only in Scotland could your car roll uphill!  I like it.  An optical illusion caused by too much of the Scots' favourite tipple, perhaps?

 Cheesy

They tend to hang people here if you put anything in their beloved Scotch. Wink
