This is the competition where I was 'hung' last year for a straight photo image (the Pelican Perch in the Reflections gallery). It is on again. Contact is Andy Remainis Ph: (02) 66779009 andyr@westnet.com.au

Siome extracts from the e-Newsletter

“The Tweed Naturally Art Awards evolved from a need to promote awareness and understanding of biodiversity and conservation issues within our region. Through the creative process, the objective is to educate and inspire the artists and viewers alike, to further appreciate, respect and examine our ever changing natural environment.”

We have an eclectic mix on this year‟s judging panel: Gloria Roszkiewicz has been involved with the local „grass roots‟ arts industry for many years. Peter Schardin has been associated with the Tweed River Art Gallery for a number of years and has a broad understanding of a variety of media and styles. Olga Vidler OAM, our carry-over judge, has been involved with community environmental issues (especially saving the Fingal Peninsula) and has travelled to many of the world‟s leading art galleries. Kate McKenzie has been involved with local and regional landcare co-ordination for many years and has some interesting views on the role of art in environmental conservation. Kate will be compiling the master CD from all the entries for preselection, so please lodge your entry CD as per the entry form requirements.
