Have been stalking Ebay for a few days now for a copy of Photoshop CS3 as my copy of CS2 has been an "unofficial" copy. I managed to score a copy of CS3 extended (unopened + factory sealed) for $112 !!

Cant wait for it to arrive next week and have a look at the extended features (and be able to edit my RAW files directly in PS) !!

I know you have bought SC3 now so this isn't going to help you but it may help others.
A man i know travels the world as an IT technical engineer selling, installing, and teaching people to use the systems that they sell.
however he is very good with a lot of other systems. Now to the point he tells me that SC3 has a small flaw in it this flaw allowes anyone that has an older photoshop program (legal copy )to copy and past SC3 over the original and it will accept it as authentic.
However as i got it wrong when i tried to do this you should make a copy of both programs first.
Download the one month trial version, it is not illegal it is a loophole one that will close soon

Tim, I think you need a plug-in (free) to open RAW in CS3 (not sure, my DVD drive hasn't arrived yet so my copy of CS3 sits tantalising me on my desk . . . .).  I'm pretty sure that's what I read on the forums.

If that is the case I will just use Fast Stone to view at full screen and then convert any I want to edit to TIFF with FS.

Yes ... you can download Adobe raw and put it in the right plug-in folder and it will read the RAW from the 1D Mk III ... apparently the raw editing is really good with CS3
