Hello all Brissy / Gold Coast people (and anyone else who can get there) - The surf is predicted to peak at 8.2 feet (which is HUGE) on Saturday morning ! I dont know what the weather is going to be like but Coolongatta / Snapper Rocks / Kirra should be something special if the conditions turn right !!! There will probably be a good opportunity to get some shots of some tow surfing because I think it will probably be impossible to paddle at that size !

If the weather is anything like it is at the moment, I wouldn't send a dog out in it!!!  Grin Gale force winds and horizontal rain!! we have had about 60mm since 6 AM!

The State U15 Schoolboys AFL Carnival was scheduled over the next 4 days - I was supposed to be in Brisbane watching but day 1 is cancelled and at this stage I doubt they will play tomorrow either!!!!

The surf at Snapper yesterday afternoon was enormous, and right up to the car park.  Did you see about the car at Currumbin that was washed oput of the Elephant Rock car park and camer up, uposide down int eh surf, 80 metres down the beach?  The owner was reported to be 'upset' - I'm not surprised!

Here's a couple from yesterday
Coolangatta 0800

Snapper Rocks 5 pm (and I would not have been driving or standing where these folk are, some waves were twice the size of the ones I snapped!

Looking pretty bad up that way from what I've seen on the news. Not a drop down my way, send some down. I seen the car upside down on the beach, not to mention all the others that have been covered
in water from the flooding, No, I wouldn't be to happy either. Hope they have good insurance.
