Time is like a freeway of infinite lanes, all leading from the past to the future. A driver in lane A may crash, while a driver in lane B survives, it follows that by changing lanes one may be able to predict the future.

It is still a goer at this point but there is a small but vocal NIMBY opposition.  Check out the local papers (links below) which have stories from time to time and I'll try to rwemember to come back here and update.

There is a current story in this week's Echo  - check the sidebar with story list on the Home Page

Had that problem with the rally that was in Mildura years back, people whinging about it and trying to stop it from going ahead. They seem to think it will ruin the bush and upset the animals. I didn't get to the rally but went fishing in the area about a week later and you wouldn't have known there was one there.

I am very keen to go have a look, and at $35 for the weekend for the "special stage" gravel road tickets I think its not a bad deal ! Plus it looks like you can go from 1 stage to the next throughout the day so you can see a fair bit !

What do you think you might do Odille ?

Still cogitating.  I think the weekend one may be the way to go.  But will it be possible to move from one part of the course to another during the day.  Are you stuck where you start out?  I've never been to one as a spectator.

From reading the site what I can gather is that it is possible to move to different sections of the rally, but best if you only try and get to 2 stages each day.
There are spectator points mapped out but I would hope that you are able to move about more freely than just being confined with everyone else at one or 2 vantage points.
Also the "pits" in Kingscliffe are open to everyone (I think with a ticket) to go and have a look at the cars and things, could also be worth a peek.

This is the PDF where I tried to understand what they were on about Smiley ... since you are from around that area you would probably have a much better idea of what they are on about !

Otherwise the general information has a few other links. http://rallyaustralia.com/spectators/route/
