I got a bit of a surprise yesterday when I walked into to festival office here in Corryong and was handed a
full media pass (for free) to get into all events to get photographs. It was organized through  the local
neighbourhood house where I do some volunteer stuff. I was also asked if I would like to help on a
back up crew for some horse riders that are participating on Riley's Ride, ( a 4 day horse ride that starts
at Tom Groggin Station in the Alpine National Park and trace's the steps of Jack Riley (The Man From Snowy River) when he was bought from the mountains to Corryong in the late 1800's, on horse back because he was gravelly ill, they travelled for over a week in rain and snow but unfortunately Jack passed away at Surveyers Creek in a cattlemens hut not far from town.)
He is buried in the local cemetery here in Corryong.
Jack Riley was the man portrayed in the classic poem "The Man From Snowy River" by Banjo Patterson.
The festival runs from 2nd to the 5th of April, It has a re-inactment, rodeo, poetry, singing and a lot of other activities to keep people occupied. The horse ride starts on the 30th march and attracts people from as far as the U.S.A and Canada. I guess I will be a busy boy for the next week or so...
Special guest for the festival this year is Jack Thompson who played the part of Clancy in the first
"Man From Snowy River" movie filmed in 1982... I've watched that movie well over 50 times...

Time is like a freeway of infinite lanes, all leading from the past to the future. A driver in lane A may crash, while a driver in lane B survives, it follows that by changing lanes one may be able to predict the future.

Grin. Thanks everyone, I'm really looking forward to it.  Grin.
Sounds like Cher is a bit of a Jack Thompson fan, Hopefully I can get some good shots of him for you Cher.
