Here is the article:

http://www.news.com.au/travel/story/0,28318,25233613-5014090,00.html

I don't have too much of a problem with it so long as they do not offend people.  It does, after all, show just how much devastation can be caused and it is part of our history now.  And it does bring some money into the towns, they eat locally and presumably buy their petrol etc locally.

What do others think?

I do not have too much of a problem with it as long as it is properly managed and people respect the feelings of those who have suffered enough already. It would be good to see money being brought back in to these towns.

The emphasis being on respecting the locals! They have been through enough already!

Myself, I think its a good idea, its hopefully bringing money back into the towns that were effected and its letting people see first hand what damage can be done if they are not careful with fire.
The tours are respectful to the victims and the property owners and they only go where permission has been granted and they don't take tourists to places where people have lost there lives.
I would take the tour myself if I could. I travelled through the area around Omeo in Victoria over 12 months ago and to see the damage that was done to the bush was a real eye opener, and that was from the 2006 fires that burnt out thousands of hectares. For $25 which includes a 3 course meal there wouldn't be to much profit made from it.
