That's lovely.  What a pity they had light coloured things on, it would have more impact without that pale area in the forground.  The expressions are great.

A top image, great DOF, great eye contact with the child but I agree to much pale shirt in the pic. I would try cropping it in tighter. I cropped a copy to see how it would look and I feel it improves it but I couldn't work out how to insert the image back into this post. I love the amount of fine detal in the shot.

The image does show a good natural emotion. To my eye, i think there is a fairly strong blue cast, but easily adjusted out.
