Yes, there is a lot to learn but it's lots of fun doing it.  Welcome to the forum and don't be afraid to post your pics, all criticism is constructive in one way or another and it is interesting to see how others view your work.

Welcome from me to Nirvana. So I guess you may be a Kurt Cobain fan.
I found that learning about the main items like Shutter speed, aperature, white balance and iso were
easier if I kept reading stuff over and over until it sunk in, and trying it out on camera were the best
things to do. If you read and practice enough, it will come to you pretty quickly. Just post any questions here and there will be someone that can help you out. Enjoy the forum, we're all pretty friendly here.

thanks guys i appreciate the welcome and will put some pics up soon.
yeah the way i am making myself learn is by shooting in full manual mode and see what works and what doesn't that means alot of my photo's are crap but some seem to turn out ok.
OZZI yep i enjoy kurt's music it was a breath of fresh air when he came out and thank god he buried those glamour hair metal bands.

yep  Grin

Have just finished the biography "Heavier than Heaven" by Charles Cross. Brilliant and insightful.

Kurt's journals are a great read too.
