Went to camera shop today to check prices on a Hoya ND 8 screw on filter for a 72mm lens, my jaw nearly hit the floor, the only reason it didn't was because the counter stopped it. $79.95 for the HMC variety. A 6 or 8 star Hoya filter from the same place was $64.95. I will have to get a card so I can purchase some stuff from the internet I think. I only have 1 battery for my K20D so I finally put another one on lay-by, That alone is $99 for an origional Pentax version.

Hey Ozzi, check out this place www.d-d-photographics.com.au I buy a bit from here and the ND8 72mm is $46. Most of their prices are better than anywhere else I have found within Aus.

We haggled a while back on the price of a Ruger 223, stainless barrel, composite stock, 2lb trigger and a big bushnell zoom scope. I like shooting with camera's and guns.

No, only the auto's. you can still have bolt action which is what the 223 is, and lever action which is what our 22 winchester magnum is. Pump action shotguns that can only hold 3 rounds. Bolt actions can only take 5 in the mag. The 223 has 4 rounds in front of trigger but not in a removable mag. You can get a special permit/licence for auto's but its hard to get.

Ruger bolt guns are some of the most rugged, reliable rifles anywhere with a great accuracy potential...With their barrel twist you'll probably get your best accuracy with 55 to 62 grain projectiles...I feel your pain on the semi-autos, of the approximately 16,000 guns I sold in my business, roughly half were semi-autos... If we ever take our eyes off our worthless politicians, we could lose that right too...Good luck with the Ruger M77... ...Ben

Thanks Ben. We have been using Winchester 55 grain PSP's, (pointed soft points) but have just reloaded some shells with 55 grain bollistic tip projectiles to run at around 3100 feet per second. Hopefully that will get us some good accuracy and range. We got the 223 for controlling vermin, mainly wild dogs in the area that do alot of damage to sheep and calfs. Get some foxes around to.

Ballistic Tips do an outstanding job on thin-skinned animals and keeping the velocity down to that level should produce decent accuracy and extend brass life also...You may want to give Sierra Gamekings a try sometime, too...Ben
