To celebrate Relationships Australia’s 60th anniversary this year and with the support of Credit Union Australia(CUA), you are invited to enter a photographic competition which is being held in conjunction with The Weekend Australian Magazine. Relationships Australia and The Weekend Australian Magazine are seeking images and words that illustrate the importance of relationships to readers.
Relationships can support us, irritate us, tear us apart or build us up and bring us joy. They can give us a sense of belonging or cause us to feel isolated and alone. Whether it’s between couples, between parents and children and grandchildren, friends or colleagues, relationships are central to our wellbeing.
Submit a photograph you have taken that captures an aspect of relationships and defines what matters most to you or others.
Add up to 150 words explaining the picture and the circumstances in which it was taken. For some, the photograph will record a moment of connection within a family; for others, it will capture loss or sadness; for another, camaraderie with colleagues or team-mates, or an observation of a relationship from a distance. So send us your images and your words (details on how to enter are found at the end of this page).
The best entries will appear on The Weekend Australian website and the top 12 will be reproduced in the magazine in July. Relationships Australia plans to publish selected photos in a commemorative book next year.
From its early days as the Marriage Guidance Council, assisting families after the devastation of World War II, Relationships Australia has been helping Australians improve their wellbeing by building better relationships. It has diversified – hence the change of name to Relationships Australia in 1994.
Today, Relationships Australia is one of the largest not-for-profit providers of relationship and family support services and assists more than 100,000 people each year.
The What Matters Most competition allows all Australians to participate in Relationships Australia’s milestone birthday.
