Hopefully I may be able to get some good horse images soon when the Corryong
township holds its anual Man From Snowy River Bush Festival.
It runs from 2nd to 5th April and is meant to celebrate the life of "Jack Riley" who was the man that Banjo Patterson wrote about in his famous Poem,"The Man From Snowy River".
There is a heap of events including horses, reinactments, bush poetry, singing and more.
There is also a photography and art exhibition, competition and art sales
This festival attracts horse men and women from around the world for the top prize of
$10,000 for the rider that wins the Man From Snowy River Challenge.
Jack Riley ( an Irishman ) died in July 1914 and is buried in the local cemetary.
The 2 "Man From Snowy River" movies were based on Banjo's poem and Jack Riley.
