One of our greatest living poets  - Mr Leonard Cohen #2

http://www.lightartforum.com/index.php?action=gallery;sa=view;id=1268

I managed to nab a great series from this concert and I won't bore you with too many. Here is another.
I have purposely heavily water-marked them incase they turn up elsewhere. They are not saleable. While taken in the public domain, I would not expect to obtain a 'model release', and would never attempt to sell, without explicit permission.
The quote was a 'throw away' (probably well used on this tour) from Mr Cohen, now in his 75th year.
For the record it has been about 24 years since his last visit to Australia and prior to 2008, he had not toured at all, anywhere, for something like 15 years.
Testimony to his talent is the amount of cover versions of his seminal hit 'Hallelujah'.

The accompaning musician is Javier Mas, the spanish virtuoso player of the Bandurria, Laud, Archilaud, 6 & 12 string aucoustic guitars, and electric guitar. His amazing profile can be viewed at:

You know why?..and it is probably the answer to other occurances.
I updated the photo with a less compressed version after initial upload.
I'll try again.

...later

OK, when you edit an image that has already been loaded, it seems that a new image ID is generated, and the old link is not automatically regenerated - a development fault which I will forward to the gallery mod owner.

To update simply go back to the gallery and copy the BBC code and modify your Post, inserting the new link in place of the old one.
Blah blah..
Anyway, there is the shot.
I found spot metering for the skin tones seemed to work.
It gets much more hit and miss when banks of lights, or a spotlight singling out the main subject becomes involved. Vary the metering, particularly when the contrast levels crank up.
The best shots were achieved around dusk.

I like th e other one better but this is good too.  I think the comment that the first one might be saleable to Mr Cohen himself is a good point, it is an image that really shows 'character' and is very evocative.

Not, that to my great regret, I could play one, for anyone into the music of the 70's, 80's and there after revered, the wooden structure in the background is a Hammond B3, without bothering to go into detail, if interested read: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hammond_organ

Yeah I do like this one a bit better, it looks like he spotted you there and took his had of and looked.
The eye contact and how he is holding his hat really helps make the shot. Great job...
