how about the winner picking a runner up, that way assuming we get different winners (ross&cher)  no offence intended just jeaollsy,
that way we would get members involved in judging but only if they win. tosome that may be enough incentive.

I have no proble with a 'member's choice' runner up.
To recap on how winner's are selected, the gallery is set to automatically tally points.

Simply visit an image in the gallery and set the rating to however many stars you think that it merits.
When we first started several months back this was a manual process, but is now done automatically.
When someone wins, they do so on the merit of points awarded by other members.
I have no input whatsoever, other than I do vote occassionally when I see an outstanding image.
All vote deatails and comments are visible to all members, which keeps it all above board  Wink
While I'd prefer you don't vote on your own images, there is not much we can do about it.
Comments may also bne left on the gallery and are encouraged, while discussion of images takes place on the board for that category.
When you post an image into the gallery, a new topic is automatically generated in the appropriate category board.

Sooo...Vote away - you do have the winner selection in your hands. Adn don't forget, there is now a monthly prize. Last month a 16x24" archival quality enlargement of the featured winning (or any other) image from the winner's own files!

A big thanks to the Admin Dude - Cher's 16 x 24 arrived safe and sound - now we just have to budget for the framing!!!!  Grin

And dont beleive all he says  Bob - I tested the theory about voting on your own images (so call me cynical)  ???and it won't let you!!!! I think it is called the Ross clause!!! Huh?  Cool

I agree that the winner could pick a runner up but we need more people to enter the challenges for there to be a runner up in the first place lol

Well right you are there too Tommy...
In fact, I do believe that by default of the fact that you did enter the December challenge, you would apear to be the winner!
No one else bothered to raise their Christmas pudding-laden bottoms off the couch long enought to snap anything remotely holiday-ish within the month of December. Tim post some nice New years fire works.... in January

Time is like a freeway of infinite lanes, all leading from the past to the future. A driver in lane A may crash, while a driver in lane B survives, it follows that by changing lanes one may be able to predict the future.
