i have been taking pictures for close to 50 years,(got first camera aged 11) but 5 years ago my trusted pentax kx stoped working, hilda (my long suffering wife of 37 years) gave me my first digital camera i do'nt even rember what camera it was, because it was not film,but i had to show her some pictures i had taken so i went out to take some pictures.
long stroey short i lost intrest in photography,i found because i could now go out with a card that holds 200 pictures , i stoped looking i would just take anything in front of me, even with my nikon bought new 2004, but i then found the forum and now i am starting to look again, so for this i thank you.
has anyone els sufferd simular problums, as in too much choice.

Hey Bob.

In the portrait industry this situation is called 'hosing'.
The thought process leaves the scene in favour of holding down the button.
My 2nd digital camera was a Nikon D2H, which fo its time had a decent motor drive, that wwnt at it like a gattling gun.
In the heat of the moment, particulalry when there is a bit of action, it is wasy to gold that button down.

One way around this is to shoot in single shot rather than continous mode, so that more consideration needs to be made of each shot (in portraiture).
I also set myself little projects, like a series of my young girls as they grow up, Old farm buildings when we are travelling, walks in the rain, where I am careful to slow down the process. Digital is here to stay, but we can (and should) still take time to enjoy the process.
