I have been to plenty of school award nights, and I agree that they can be a tad boring. (although I believe some parents might argue that) Having the camera does pass the time. Nice shots for as dark as these events usually are.

With the number of parents who left as soon as their kids got their awards I can assume it was pretty boring for them too Smiley !
I guess I should have put with the original post that I am amazed at the lack of noise in these photos at ISO 800 ...
Compression hasnt done much for the sharpness but I can assure you the originals are pretty sharp !
