Looks like a little motion blur ... were you on a tripod ?

No I wasn't. I was pulling weeds in my garden and had my camera with me. About as soon as I posted this photo I thought I should have waited and setup tomorrow to take a better, closeup shot. These are giving me ideas for others.

There are some dark streaks in the cactus along with some of the stickers that are coming out the end. This tends to add motion to it. There might be a slight motion blur but looking at the individual hairs on the end, it isn't much.

Looking again closer at the base I see what you mean ... the base is fine ! I should have investigated a bit closer Smiley
