There are a couple of your country folk here visiting the area that I had the pleasure of talking with. They are from Wollongong (spelled?). Supposed to be near Sydney.
While I could sit and listen to the "proper" english all day long, I shared this forum with them.

So to my question. What cities are you in or near?

In Australia "near" can be a relative term ... compared to Perth I am near Sydney (a mere 1000 km away) I am also "near" Cairns a mere 2hour flight away. My nearest major capitol city is Brisbane, only 45mins - 1hr away driving.

Time is like a freeway of infinite lanes, all leading from the past to the future. A driver in lane A may crash, while a driver in lane B survives, it follows that by changing lanes one may be able to predict the future.

Woollongong is about 1 1/2 hours south of Sydney on the coast.

I am from Terranora just south of the QLd border on the coast. Brisabne is about 100km north as the crow (or raven - we don't have crows this far south) flies.

Darn, we really need a frappr map on here, but last tiome I tried to set one up I could NOT get it right.  Anyone up to the task?

And I wish our little mini profiels on the posts showed where we are from - I have put my location in my profile but it does not show there like it does on some other forums.

We are from Tweed Heads West - about 5 minutes north of Odille and 10/15 minutes south of Tim - and do the run to Brisbane more regularly than we would like!!! While we say 100 k's to Brisbane, reality is that suburbia now extends pretty much all the way from brisbane down to here!!!

I live in the mountains, a little town called Corryong, in the state of Victoria. Near the Vic/NSW border.
The closest large town is Albury(nsw)/Wodonga(vic), which is about 130-140 km's away.
The closest capital city is Melbourne which is probably over a 4.5 hour drive.
I live about 100 km's from Australia's highest mountain, Mt Kosciusco, 2228 metres.

I'm from a place called Holgate on the NSW Central Coast near Gosford and Terrigal. We are an hour from the Harbour Bridge (Sydney), an hour from the beautiful Hunter Valley wine district. 45 Minutes from our Great Dividing Range (not so great in height), 10 minutes from a bunch of beaches, 10 hours from The Land of Odille, Ross and Cher, 11 hours from Brisbane (Bris Vegas), 4 hours from our national capital in Canberra and 13 hours from Melbourne. All in all not a bad place to live and raise kids!

I live in Sydney just 15 mins drive North of the City CBD. Lots of photo opportunities around here just not enough hours in the day. A problem for most of us , I am sure...
